Luxury Hotel Atlantis Giardino situated close at the bottom of the Uetliberg Mountain. It is only a 10 minute drive from the buzzling city of Zürich. A five star design hotel with 95 exclusive rooms and suites. This hotel used to welcome very famous stars. We are curious who are going to revisit this beautiful hotel again.
Update: unfortunately this hotel is now closed.
We had a special celebration and choose to stay in this beautiful Hotel. We love the design and the eye for detail. The company responsible for the design is The Gallery HBA lead by Creative director Inge Moore. She did an exceptional job to restore the hotel to its former glory and created a very modern and luxurious design.
The staff made us feel very welcome from the moment we walked in and gave us some fine refreshments to start with. After we were shown into our beautiful room we had surprise waiting for us. A bottle of Champagne to celebrate our special occasion, that was very thoughtful of the Hotel and a big treat for us.
Our beautiful design room was a DeLuxe Room 37–40 m² in size with a King size Bed and beautiful views over Zürich City.
We had our lunch at the Hide & Seek restaurant. The decor of this restaurant is very inviting. The living room decorated with soft colours, designer items, flowers and cosy pillows. A big terrace is overlooking the city of Zürich.
My husband started with the Kingfish crudo with cider, apple, pine nuts and chervil. As main the Bison entrecôte with roasted pumpkin, mushrooms, gremolata, orange gel and black garlic. For dessert he had the Ganache of Guanaja und Jivara Chocolate with goji berries, passion fruit and salted peanut ice cream. It all tasted very delicious.
As a starter I had the „Atlantis“ salmon cured and hot smoked with mango-papaya, mustard seed salsa, cashew nuts and pea creme. As main the Albaco tuna with pomegranate, broad beans, beluga lentils and chimichurri sauce. For dessert I had the Thai Garden with cocos, mango, tamarind and bitter melon. All very great dishes with very refined flavours.
We started of with a glass of Blason Rosé Champagne from Perrier-Jouët. My husband had a white Sauvignon Blanc 2013 from Clerc Bamert with his starter. I had a glass of white Chardonnay 2013 from Rivers-Marie. My husband had a glass of Brunello Di Montalcino from 2010 with his main. I stayed with the fine Chardonnay.
The icing on the cake was a surprise by the amazing staff they had made a delicious chocolate cake especially for our celebration.
In the evening we had a beautiful spot at the window overlooking the lights of Zürich and listened to some great live music. We had some delicious cocktails and tapas which was more than enough after our voluminous lunch.
